Schley County Clerk of Superior Court

Kimberly McKinney is listed as Schley County Clerk of Superior Court. The GSCCCA clerk directory gives her election year as 2022, county code 123, and courts managed as Superior. The county courts page lists the same clerk contact path for Superior Court records. This is the office to start with for Superior Court civil, criminal, divorce, lien, land, UCC, jury, and certified-copy questions.

The office is not the same as the county administrative clerk. Hailey Felker is listed on the county administration page as County Clerk, with open-records responsibilities for county-government records, agendas, minutes, retention schedules, and administrative records. Court case files and filed Superior Court documents remain with the Clerk of Superior Court.

What the Schley Clerk Does

The county courts page gives an unusually specific list of duties. The office files and manages civil records, including divorce, child support, adoptions, and liens. It also files and manages misdemeanor and felony records, including warrants, accusations, and indictments. The clerk manages county trial and grand juries, commissions notary public applicants, records land transactions and plats, files UCC records, records security deeds and mortgages, keeps Armed Services Discharge or DD214 records, and supports the Board of Equalization.

  • Superior Court civil, divorce, child support, adoption, and lien records.
  • Misdemeanor and felony filings, including warrants, accusations, and indictments.
  • Land transactions, plats, UCC filings, security deeds, and mortgages.
  • Notary public commissions, jury administration, DD214 records, and Board of Equalization support.

Some of these records are public; others are restricted. Adoption records, DD214 military discharges, sealed files, juvenile materials, and records with protected personal identifiers should not be treated like routine public index records.

Request a Certified Clerk Copy

A certified copy is the clerk-issued version of a court or recorded document with official certification. Use it for legal proceedings, title work, agencies, schools, benefits, and situations where a plain printout is not enough. Ask the clerk whether the document is in a court case file, a land-record index, a lien record, or another clerk system before requesting certification.

  1. Identify the record type, such as divorce decree, criminal disposition, lien, deed, plat, UCC, or certified case document.
  2. Gather party names, case number or book and page if known, date range, and requested copy type.
  3. Call 229-937-5581 or contact the office by email to confirm availability, fee, and delivery method.
  4. Submit the request through the office channel the clerk approves: in person, mail, email, fax, PeachCourt, or GSCCCA depending on the record.
  5. Keep receipts and confirm whether the copy is plain, certified, or otherwise authenticated.

GSCCCA and Clerk Indexes

For real estate, lien, plat, PT-61, UCC, and notary index work, the statewide GSCCCA tools are often the right starting point. The GSCCCA Real Estate Index includes name search, book and page search, county and instrument paths, lien searches, UCC searches, certified UCC search requests, and other clerk-index routes. Premium searches may require a subscription, and document images depend on participating counties and available records.

The federal court distinction is shown in the assigned image from the PACER Georgia Middle Bankruptcy lookup.

This image appears on the clerk page because federal bankruptcy and clerk-index searches are often confused; bankruptcy is federal, while Schley clerk records remain local or GSCCCA-indexed.

Online and Mail Access

Georgia Courts e-access lists Schley Superior through PeachCourt. PeachCourt's access page describes civil and criminal e-filing and court documents across Georgia, but account access is required before search fields are visible. The support number shown for PeachCourt is 844-GA-EFILE. Users should not assume a free anonymous Schley case search exists just because an e-access route is listed.

Mail requests should go to P.O. Box 7, Ellaville, GA 31806, when the clerk confirms that mail is appropriate for the record. Use the county administrative clerk instead for county-government records unrelated to court case files.

Note: Ask whether a record is a court case file, clerk index, or county-government record before sending payment.
